We collect only what we need to respond to you and run the practice, and we never sell it. This notice explains what we hold, why we hold it, and the rights you have over it.

Who we are

Strata Cost Consulting Limited (“Strata”, “we”) is the controller of the personal data described in this notice. We are registered in England and Wales under company number 17173275, and our registered office is at 28 Watercress Road, Cheshunt, Waltham Cross, EN7 6XN. The data we collect

Enquiries. When you email us or contact us directly, we receive your name, email address and message, and, if you choose to give them, your company and telephone number.
Business correspondence. The emails, calls and records that build up in the ordinary course of dealing with clients, suppliers and professional contacts. Occasionally a contact is introduced to us by a client or colleague, in which case we hold their business contact details on the same basis.
Careers. If you send us a CV or an introduction, we receive the career information you choose to share.
Technical data. Our hosting provider keeps short-lived server logs, including IP address, browser type and the pages requested, in order to deliver the site securely. These are rotated automatically.

You are never obliged to give us personal data. Without contact details we simply cannot respond to you. We do not seek special category data through this site, the site is not directed at children, and we do not use automated decision-making or profiling.

Cookies

This site uses cookies to work properly, to remember choices you make, and, where you agree, to understand how it is used so we can improve it. We do not use them to build advertising profiles or to track you across other sites, and non-essential cookies are set only after you consent. Our separate Cookie Policy sets out the cookies we use, how long they last, and how to control them.

Why we use your data, and the lawful basis

To respond to enquiries and discuss a possible commission: our legitimate interest in running the practice and, where you ask us to proceed, steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
To consider you for a role: our legitimate interest in recruiting well, and steps taken before a contract of employment.
To operate and secure the website: our legitimate interest in keeping the site available and safe.
To keep records the law requires, and to establish or defend legal claims: legal obligation and legitimate interests.

Where we rely on legitimate interests we have weighed them against your rights and interests, and you can object at any time.

Who we share it with

Service providers who host the website and process form submissions on our behalf (currently Netlify), and the providers of our email and IT systems.
Professional advisers, including accountants, insurers, bankers and lawyers, where necessary.
Regulators, courts and authorities, where the law requires it.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone for their marketing.

Where it is processed

Some of our providers process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we make sure a transfer safeguard recognised by UK law is in place, such as UK adequacy regulations or the international data transfer agreement or addendum approved by the Information Commissioner.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to twelve months from our last exchange, then deleted.
Client and commission records: for the life of the engagement, and afterwards for as long as the law and our insurers require, typically six years and, for contracts executed as a deed, twelve.
CVs and career introductions: up to six months after the conversation ends, unless you ask us to keep yours on file.
Server logs: kept briefly by our hosting provider and rotated automatically.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you access to the data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict how we use it, to provide it to you or another provider in a portable form, or to stop using it where we rely on legitimate interests. Where processing rests on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time. Email enquiries@stratacc.com and we will respond within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, we would welcome the chance to put it right first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
